Suboo staff left owed $170,700 as fashion label enters liquidation
Sydney fashion brand Suboo entered liquidation on October 2 with about $600,000 in liabilities.
Celebrities including Gigi Hadid, Kendall Jenner and Jennifer Lopez wore the brand. The brand made resortwear, swimwear and occasion wear.
Two staff members are owed $170,700 in unpaid leave entitlements. The company had only $1,854 in cash and $111,852 in stock when liquidation began.
Trade debts included $140,232 to Shopify and $105,162 to Wayflyer, plus shipping costs to DHL and FedEx. The collapse shows the financial strain online fashion brands face.
