Capital Film Festival brings largest lineup to Canberra
Canberra's Capital Film Festival runs October 21 to 25 with over 20 films, most premiering in Australia or the ACT for the first time.
The five-day festival at Dendy Cinemas and the National Film and Sound Archives opens with The Fox, a dark comedy that won the Audience Award for Best Australian Feature at Sydney Film Festival. It stars Jai Courtney and Emily Browning with voices by Olivia Colman and the late Sam Neill.
Director Dario Russo, who won Best Australian Director at Melbourne International Film Festival, will do a Q&A after opening night. The program also includes I Love Boosters starring Demi Moore and Keke Palmer, plus festival winners from Sundance and Cannes.
Festival director Karinna Libbey said the 2026 lineup is the biggest since the festival started five years ago. Tickets went on sale this week.
