Trial opens for ex-cop accused of murdering Sydney couple with service gun

Ex-cop Beau Lamarre-Condon goes on trial for allegedly shooting Sydney couple in February 2024.

The trial of Beau Lamarre-Condon, 31, begins today in the NSW Supreme Court. Lamarre-Condon is accused of murdering television presenter Jesse Baird and Qantas flight attendant Luke Davies.

The shooting allegedly occurred with his service weapon inside a Paddington terrace. Lamarre-Condon pleaded not guilty to two counts of domestic violence-related murder.

He also pleaded not guilty to one count of aggravated break and enter. The couple disappeared in February 2024 after a pre-Mardi Gras party.

Their bodies were found the following week in Bungonia, nearly 200 kilometres south-west of Sydney. The trial is expected to last three months.

Dozens of witnesses will be called.
