Sam Wood charged with assault and strangulation
Fitness entrepreneur Sam Wood, 46, has been charged with assault occasioning bodily harm and strangulation in a domestic incident.
Sam Wood, the founder of fitness brand 28 by Sam Wood, was arrested Saturday night at a luxury Noosa villa and charged with domestic violence offences. Police attended the $3,000-a-night accommodation around 9pm after reports of domestic violence and charged the 46-year-old Victorian man with assault and strangulation.
Wood remained in custody and appeared before Maroochydore Magistrates Court on Monday, where his lawyer requested an adjournment and a bail application hearing for Thursday. His company 28 by Sam Wood has stood him down from his duties indefinitely.
Wood and his wife Snezana, whom he married in 2018 after meeting on The Bachelor Australia, released a statement saying they are working through the situation as a family and cooperating with authorities.
