Caleb Walker steps up from Farrer League to North Albury
Talented young defender Caleb Walker has signed with North Albury for 2027 after becoming one of the Farrer League's top prospects.
Caleb Walker, a standout defender for Marrar, has joined North Albury in the Ovens and Murray League competition. Walker said he wanted to test himself at a higher level and felt the timing was right.
A few Wagga boys have moved down there, including James Pope and Jamie Mooney, which gave him confidence. Walker has been a key position talent since his 2022 senior debut and was named fullback in the Farrer League Team of the Year.
He won Marrar's best and fairest last season despite missing time overseas. He said leaving Marrar was a tough decision given the tight-knit community.
North Albury has become a destination for Riverina and Farrer League talents stepping up to higher competition. The existing pathway and community club feel helped convince him it was the right fit for the next stage of his career.
