Nick Blakey still pushing for Sydney Swans trade
Sydney Swans defender Nick Blakey, suspended last month, continues to explore a trade.
Nick Blakey has not given up on leaving Sydney in the current trade period, according to AFL trade reporter Cal Twomey. The 26-year-old was suspended by the club last month following the Pullman Hotel scandal.
Rival clubs are actively assessing a potential move. Geelong is believed to be his preferred destination.
Sydney's head of list strategy Chris Keane says the club has received no formal request from Blakey or his management. However, Twomey reports the cogs are working in the background.
Any trade breakthrough depends on how hard Blakey pushes for it himself.
