Woman sentenced for dragging police with stolen ute in Alfredton
Sophie Hattam-Green, 20, was sentenced to a good behaviour undertaking after dragging two police officers with a stolen ute in Alfredton.
Sophie Hattam-Green and Conner Mulcahy stole a red Holden Commodore ute on June 28, 2025. The next morning at a car wash in Alfredton, police spotted the stolen car.
When officers grabbed Mulcahy at the driver's door, Hattam-Green floored the accelerator from the passenger seat. One officer was dragged six metres, flung face-first into the ground, and nearly run over.
The other was scraped against a concrete wall. The pair fled when the car broke down.
Hattam-Green was arrested in a backyard and found with bank cards belonging to other people. On October 6, 2026, she pleaded guilty to motor vehicle theft, reckless conduct endangering serious injury, and methamphetamine possession.
The magistrate sentenced her to a one-year good behaviour undertaking and suspended her licence for three months.
